A Music Session, written and directed by Maddie

Hmm, should I go with the harmonica (which sounds an awful lot like "Veronica") or the recorder? One thing is for sure: I will wear only sunglasses and Elmo underwear.
Yeah, the recorder is much louder more satisfying. Mommy enjoys it when I play the recorder really loudly in the kitchen. I think it helps her do the dishes more quickly.
Wait. What's that? Daddy wants to play with me?! Let's jam.
We jammed. Hard. Daddy said that playing the harmonica so much made him very, very dizzy. Good thing that never happens to me. I can play all day long.

Math, Music and a Quiz

Alright, I have a couple of new pictures to share but first I need to ask you a favor. There's a little bit of an ongoing argument a healthy discussion going on over here about Maddie's hair. Someone thinks it needs to be cut (or trimmed or whatever) and someone else thinks it should be free to grow. So... Help us out and take the poll that's in our right sidebar. Really. We'd appreciate it. ;-)
Here's a terrible picture of our new math game. I bought these little plastic swan "boats" and stuck number cards inside. Her job was to count out the correct number of beads (or "cherries" as she calls them) and put them in that particular swan boat. Eventually, I'll introduce a melon baller or spoon for her to transfer them and different color beads, but for now we're just working on numbers.
First of all, I love the way Maddie is looking at Mike. It warms my heart. Secondly, I'm seriously questioning my decision to buy her a triangle at our local teacher's supply store today. As soon as I showed her how to use it, she ran to get ALL of her instruments (which have almost always been some of her favorite toys; thanks Davis family!). They jammed. I enjoyed it.
